Paul's Mihalidius theory- based on Meningitis B vaccine petition

Meningitis b vaccine petition campaign from callumpugh

Slacktivism: counter argument

The act of showing support for a cause but to benefit the ego and requires litte personal effort. It is the combination of the two words 'slaker' and 'activist'.

In this case, there is no slacktivism present. This is because there can be no personal selfish gain from signing the petition. In this case, it is more about collaberating to benefit the greater good instead of making oneselfs look better. Put simply, there can not really be any other agendas behind signing this petition other than doing it out of genuinly wanting to help.
There is an argument that without slacktivism, a large number of the population would not have a personal motif to bother contributing and thefore could be more damaging asthere will be less citizenship.
